Overview
AI as an Adaptive Learning Coach explores how generative AI can support learning throughout a complex project. While designing and building this website, I used AI as a learning partner to research ideas, solve problems, develop content, and learn new technical skills. The project demonstrates how AI can enhance learning while keeping human judgment and decision-making at the center of the process.
the challenge
Building a professional website required learning new skills in WordPress, website design, branding, content strategy, and user experience. Rather than relying solely on tutorials, I wanted to explore whether AI could provide personalized guidance and support as I learned and applied these skills in real time.
my approach
I approached the project as both a website development effort and a learning experience. AI helped explain concepts, answer questions, generate ideas, and troubleshoot challenges. By applying adult learning principles such as practice, reflection, and iteration, I used AI to support learning rather than replace it.
deliverables
This project produced a variety of learning and design resources, including website content, instructional storyboards, infographics, AI prompt guides, worksheets, course materials, and portfolio case studies. These deliverables demonstrate practical applications of AI in learning design and content development.
